23/1/2024

Picture
Sunday 28th January this year is 'World Lewy Body Day' - the first of it's kind aimed at raising awareness of conditions caused by Lewy bodies, including Lewy body dementia.
As part of global efforts to raise awareness of the specific characteristics and challenges of LBD, we're thrilled to let you know about an online presentation we've been working on in collaboration with Dementia Carers Count.

The presentation will be available to view by clicking on the button below from 1pm on Sunday 28th January 2024.
We've also shared information about this on our Facebook page and group, so please help us to spread the word by sharing details on your own accounts and with friends and family.

Thank you!

Our 'quick guide' to Lewy bodies

7/8/2023

A big part of our approach is rooted in a desire to avoid reinventing the wheel, with regards to both our services and the information available to people affected by Lewy body disorder and their families.

But there are times when we feel a trick has been missed. So, if we can't find the right information to signpost you to, we feel it's up to us to fill in the gaps.
It's for this reason that we have published our quick guide: Conditions caused by Lewy bodies.

Rest assured, although we remain an entirely volunteer-run organisation, we would never publish anything that is inaccurate. All of the information - including the relationship between the conditions caused by Lewy bodies - has been reviewed and approved by medical professionals.

The booklet aims to give an accessible overview of what Lewy bodies are, how they can affect individuals and the different diagnoses a person might receive as a result of which symptoms they have first.

We know how confusing the experience of getting a diagnosis - or multiple or changing diagnoses - can be, so we hope this booklet will shed some light on why this might have happened and help to put your mind at ease.
